Here’s a brief look at his sports career: At the X Games extreme sport competition, Mr. Ellis specialized in the Big Air event, where skateboarders compete on a half-pipe ramp and can perform drops of 40 feet or higher. In competition, he placed in the Top 10 every year from 2004 to 2007. He co-hosted the X Games from 2002 to 2006. He retired from professional skateboarding in 2007. Mr. Ellis won his debut mixed martial arts fight at a charity event in 2009, beating Brazilian jujitsu specialist Tony Gianopulos. In 2012, he defeated former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Gabe Ruediger in a celebrity boxing match.
